This is a special invitation for fellow Lockner residents! One of our residents, Jon Hoskins, has written a book about De Beauvoir and the launch event is this Wednesday
evening, 23rd November, just down the road at Open School East
in the Rose Lipman building.
The book is called Own De Beauvoir! It looks at the intense, localised, collective action in De Beauvoir Town between 1968 and the mid-1980s, and it incorporates newly uncovered images, archival material, semi-fictional writing and personal accounts.
From 7-8pm there’ll be a talk by Stuart Weir, a former editor of the New Statesman, as well as an academic, campaigner and leading local activist in the late 1960s and 1970s in De Beauvoir Town.
It’s free to come and there’s a donation bar all evening. Please feel free to forward this to anyone else you think may be interested.
